Property Description
United States Outfitters is a full-time outfitting company. Our staff of licensing experts works year round on research of areas in various states to get the "big boys." Our crews work throughout the summer on our private accommodations and gear to have them ready for you in the fall. Our hunting guides, both men and women, are all expert bow and rifle hunters. United States Outfitters' specialty is archery hunting, which requires skilled guides who know how to get you in close for a shot. We believe in keeping the same guides year after year, which benefits our hunters. Private Ranch vs. Licensing Areas

The answer to this common question is "the price of the hunt," which is based on how we secure the license. Both Ranch hunts and Licensing hunts are basically equal in harvest quality, success, camp size, guide ration (usually 1 guide to 2 hunters), meals, transportation during the hunt, meat care and trophy care.

Ranch hunts are available for trophy elk, whitetail, mule deer and antelope.

Licensing hunts are available for elk, whitetail, mule deer, and antelope, but also include shiras moose, desert sheep, rocky mountain bighorn sheep, dall sheep, mountain goat, coues deer, mountain lion, oryx and ibex.

Ranch hunts differ from Licensing hunts as Ranch hunts are more expensive and have guaranteed tags, thus no drawing is necessary. When you book a ranch hunt, you are scheduled for a certain ranch at a certain time. We set aside a ranch permit for you to guarantee your license, so you can schedule to go hunting at this time.

These hunts are usually booked a year or more in advance with an average of six to eight per camp. Many of our clients book themselves on a certain Ranch hunt yearly unless they notify us otherwise. Accommodations are always a lodge or cabin.
