Canada Goose and Duck Hunting at Wild Goose Lodge Outfitters in Prince Edward Island, has drawn hunters from all over the United States and Europe for some of the best waterfowl hunting Canada has to offer. Fully inclusive hunts on private leases.
Wild Goose Lodge hunting packages are designed to combine safety, comfort and enjoyment. Hunter’s will appreciate a choice of private hunting sites, with most of the gunning being over barley, corn and potato fields. You are never asked to hunt with other hunters and will always be the only group at a site. Most sites are within a 20-mile radius of Wild Goose Lodge and your guide will put forth every effort to provide the best hunting experience possible.
Wild Goose Lodge sits just inland from the cliffs bordering the north shore of Prince Edward Island and the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Wild Goose Lodge crowns a 6-acre hilltop site overlooking the tiny fishing village of French River, right in the heart of the best goose hunting territory on the Island.
We hunt along the shores of the famous Malpeque Bay and inland approximately 15-miles. In addition to Canada geese, we also hunt various species of ducks, including black, mallard and teal. We are goose hunters first and foremost and that is what we charge for. We are pleased to provide extra value by doing some late day duck hunting along the shores of the Bay.
The migratory bird-hunting season extends from the first Monday in October to mid-December. Almost all our birds migrate from Labrador and are a common local sight as early as late August. Visitors must hold a Federal Migratory Game Permit, as well as a Prince Edward Island Non-Resident License and Conservation Certificate. You must also have a Firearm Safety Certificate card from your State or Province but if you do not, we can arrange a temporary permit. There is no Sunday hunting and all guns must be plugged. The daily limit for Canada goose is five, with a possession limit of ten. The limit for ducks is six per day, of which four can be black. A local "plucker" will process and freeze your birds at a reasonable fee and your guide will co-ordinate this for you.
Wild Goose Lodge offers comfort and camaraderie, where hunters can relax in private or swap stories in our common lounge area. Our deluxe package includes the guided hunt, breakfast and evening meal daily and accommodation, as well as all licenses and taxes. Our fully equipped housekeeping units are convenient for hunters in preparing their own snacks or a full course meal, if they do not prefer the deluxe package.
